Orlando is a wonderful city to be apart of, even if only temporarily.  It is a beautiful place to live, and a very spectacular place to visit, especially if you have never been.

During the height of the summer season, beautiful Orlando sees perfect weather, its high temperatures in the lower to mid 90s, and the low temperatures rarely falling below 70 degrees.

 

Orlando is home to Darden Resturaunts, the largest operator of resturants in the world, according to revenue. Darden Resturaunts are the parent company of Red Lobster and Olive Garden.  

 

Orlando holds the first Waldorf Astoria built from the ground up since the flagshit hotel opened in New York City in 1931.

Every spring, Orlando holds three very well known festivals.  The Orlando International Fringe Theater Festival, The Harriett Lake Festival of New plays, and the Orlando Cabaret Festival.  

The Orlando International Fringe Theater Festival draws touring companies from around the world and is hosted in various venues over Orlando's Loch Haven Park.  The Festival holds readings and fully staged productions of new and unknown plays by local artists.  The Harriett Lake Festival of New Plays is hosted by the Orlando Shakespear Theater and also features plays and productions of new and unknown artists.  The Orlando Cabaret Festival is hosted at the Mad Cow Theater in Downtown Orlando, and showcases local, national and internationally renowned cabaret artists.

 

One of the largest single-story shopping malls in the United States is located in Orlando.  This shopping paradise is known as The Florida Mall, and is the largest mall in Orlando.  It runs 1,849,000 square feet, and holds over 250 stores, and is home to the Florida Mall Hotel & Conference Center Tower.  Accoriding to the Chamber of Commerce, The Florida Mall is located just outside the city prosper in unincorporated Orange County.

 

Orlando is home to numerous recording studios and producers, and because of this, it has contributed heavily to the production of many new artists, bringing fourth a whole new music scene. This started in 1995 with alternative-rock band Matchbox Twenty, and the pop-rock bands NSync and Backstreet boys, who all started out in Orlando.  

As time went on, Orlando saw a lot of new artists start there, and seemed to be the home of the constantly changing music scene.  In the late 90's, the metal bend Skrape was established, and shortly followed by the screamo band From First to Last, and the alternative metal band, Fireflight.  In the early 2000's, the heavy metal bands Trivium and Alter Bridge were formed.  As the 2000's went on, more screamo bands such as Blood on the Dance Floor, and Sleeping with Sirens were established in Orlando.  

Hot Topic and Vans took advantage of this growth of music in Orlando.  Hot Topic established 5 stores in Orlando, and Vans Warped Tour takes place in Orlando every year.  Orlando is home to many shopping opportunities, theme parks, and now it is home to HRC Orlando, your Metropolitan Orlando Hair Replacement Solution !

 

Orlando holds Central Florida Research Park, which is the 7th largest research park in the country, and is over 1,025 acres.  Over 120 companies call Central Florida Research Park home, including the Orange County Convention Center, and it is the hub of the nation's military simulation and training programs.  Metro Orlando is home to the simulation procurement commands for the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard.  As each year draws to an end, the Orange County Convention Center hosts the world's largest modeling and simulation conference: Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC).

 

Metro Orlando is a major industrial and hi-tech center with more then 150 international companies, representing approximately 20 countires, holding facilities in the area.  The technology industry for Metro Orlando is nationally recogzied for its innovation in digital media, agricultural technology, aviation, aerospace, and software design.  The technology industry employs over 53,000 people and is worth $13.4 billion.

 

Orlando is home to many notable former and present athletes and the home city of three professional sports teams.  These are the Orlando Magic NBA team, the Orlando Predators Arena Football League team, and in 2015, the Orlando City SC of Major League Soccer.  The athletes who call Orlando home include baseball players Carlos Peña, Frank viola and Ken Griffey Jr, basketball player Shaquille O'Neal, and many golfers including Tiger Woods, Mark O'Meara and Arnold Palmer.  Orlando also holds several minor league teams including the Orlando City USL Pro soccer team, and the Orlando Solar Bears ECHL ice hockey team. 

 

The Florida Film Festival which takes place in venues throughout the area is one of the most respected regional film festivals in the country and attracts budding filmmakers from around the world.

 

The film, television and electronic gaming industries in Orlando  have earned the city the nickname of "Hollywood East" because of all of the movie studios in the area.  Orlando is a large production center for television shows, direct-to-video productions, and commercial production.  In 2011, filmmaker Marlon Campbell brought A-Match Pictures and Angel Media Stuidos to the list of film and recording studios in the city.

 

The most famous film-making moment in Orlando's history is said to be the implosion of Orlando's previous City Hall for the movie Lethal Weapon 3.  The films Ernest Saves Christmas, Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector, and Never Back Down all take place in and were filmed entirely in Orlando.  Other major motion pictures filmed in Orlando include Passenger 57, D.A.R.Y.L., Jaws 3, My Girl, Parenthood, Problem Child 2, Lethal Weapon 3, Dead Presidents, The Waterboy, Olive Juice, and Monster, and in 2010, Tranformers: Dark of the Moon sequel had scenes filmed at the Orlando International Airport.

Finally, the famous documentary "Walt Before Mickey" starring Thomas Ian Nicholas, Jon Heder and Armondo Gutierrez was filmed in Orlando.

 

Orlando is one of the leading tourism destinations in the world, and features 7 of the 10 most visited theme parks in North America.  Orlando is home to the areas largest attraction, Walt Disney World and its many magical attractions such as Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, and Downtown Disney.  

 

Among the other theme parks are Universal Orlando Resort, and Seaworld Orlando, which is a large amusement park with rollar coasters and a water park and is featured alongside many zoological displays and marine animals.  Universal Orlando Resort is a lot like Walt Disney World in the fact that is has many attractions within its walls including Universal Studios Florida, CityWalk, and Islands of Adventure.
